PAOK FC becomes tenth club to join the FBIN Network

The Greek Champion of 2019 and reigning Cup Winner joins the global football business network.

PAOK FC, which stands for Panthessalonikeios Athlitikos Omilos Konstantinoupoliton, was founded in 1926 from Greek refugees of Konstantinople. Its colours are black and white and its emblem is the Two Headed Eagle, a symbol of the Byzantine Empire.

PAOK is located in Thessaloniki, the second largest city of Greece, and it’s one of the most historical football clubs in Greece. One of the only three that were never relegated from the top flight league, now called Super League.

PAOK is considered something like a cultural phenomenon since it’s the only Greek Club that constantly expands its fanbase even during the long period of time with no silverware. In 2019 PAOK won in its first championship title in 34 years and did it in fashion, completing the league undefeated being the only club in Greek football to win the Double (League, Cup) without losing.

In total PAOK has three Championships (1976, 1985, 2019) and eight Greek Cups (1972, 1974, 2001, 2003, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021).

Founder of FBIN, Thomas Maurer, said: “During the last year PAOK FC, Director of New Media, Panagiotis Aroniadis was present on the stages of our events several times, most recently at the FUTURE OF FOOTBALL BUSINESS Conference in Graz in early September. Now I am happy that this huge Greek club also becomes a member of the FBIN Network. PAOK is living a culture of sharing insights, learning from, and inspiring each other and that are the core values of our network as well. It is a natural fit”.

PAOK FC Director of New Media, Panagiotis Aroniadis, said: “We’re happy to become the new member of a growing ecosystem that connects clubs from around the world, helps them communicate, exchange ideas and solve problems in their continuous pursuit for development and digitalization. We’re looking forward in cooperating with FBIN Network and its members sharing insights, expertise and best practices. As we say at PAOK, the Future is here and we need to own the top”.
