OFI Crete named Sports Club of the Year

At the Greek Sports Marketing Awards, FBIN Football Network member OFI Crete FC won eight awards for CSR and marketing actions that took place in the previous year (2 Platinum, 5 Gold and 1 Silver). As a result, the Club was voted by the judge committee as the Sports Club of the Year in Greece for the second consecutive time.

OFI Crete FC won the following awards:

PLATINUM and GOLD in the category “Best Special Edition” for the documentary “Ήτανε μια Φορά… 21.06.87”, which was screened last June at the Theater “N. Kazantzakis “and is dedicated to the winning of the Greek Cup in 1987.

GOLD in the category “Best Real-Time Response / Occasion-based Marketing” for the action that took place on Social Media entitled “OFI supports the LGBTQ + community”.

PLATINUM and GOLD award in the category “Best Strategy for Branding”, for the Rebranding of the brand, which took place in August 2020.

GOLD in the category “Miscellaneous” for the energy “Pasillo to the champion of the 2019-20 season”, which was a pioneering move in the field of Greek football.

GOLD in the category “Best Fan Engagement Program” for the humorous festive video on New Year’s Eve 2021, with the football players competing in the kitchen to prepare chocolate chip cookies and melomakarona, with the final judges being the members of the coaching staff.

SILVER for the program “OFI Crete FC Cares”, which includes all the social activities of our team (support for flood patients, information about childhood cancer, AIDS, breast cancer, etc.), in the category “Best CSR Campaign / Activity ».

Leonidas Papavasilakis, Commercial Director of OFI Crete FC: “We are happy that, for the 2nd consecutive year, our team emerges as the Sports Club of the Year. Cruyff said ‘chose the best player in every position. You will end up not in a strong team, but in 11 strong units’.

In the professionalism, the consistency of the principles and actions of the people of OFI, who implement the program and the marketing and communication strategy today, they are awarded this distinction. And they have names: Manolis Vogiatzakis, Nontas Kargakis, Menia Sideraki, Irini Karamina, Lefteris Apostolakis, Antonis Chronakis. The members of a strong team.

With sports being the last social movement on the planet, I close with the phrase of Albert Camus – he was a goalkeeper as a young man – and attribute it to OFI and its people. “Everything I know about ethics and a sense of duty, I have learned from football.”
