FBIN Network member Ligalytics schedules Indian Super League

The Hero ISL plays 115 matches in four months and the German company Ligalytics provides the complex match schedule for the mayor Indian football competition.

Due to the Corona pandemic, the new season of the Hero ISL is played in a bubble in only three stadiums in the city of Goa. Within four months 115 games will take place at the three venues.

The unusual and very complex match schedule was developed by the German company Ligalytics, which is also responsible for the scheduling of the Basketball Champions League, the Champions Hockey League and leading European football competitions.

With games being played every day since 19 November, the first 37 games of the season are already in the books. On average more than three goals per game were scored with a stunning 3-4 between SC East Bengal and FC Goa as the game with the most goals.

The second part of the fixtures, until the final game of the regular season on March 5, was published yesterday.

“The big challenge was the extremely compact match schedule. The appropriate breaks for the eleven participating teams had to be respected to ensure the greatest possible fairness. In addition, the stadiums must not be played on two days in a row. Furthermore, there were defined highlight matches that must take place on certain days and at certain times to enable the best possible viewing figures – spectators are not allowed in the stadiums, after all,” says Ligalytics CEO Dirk Zechiel.
