DESCRIPTION

In the international sports business, European football is leading in many respects. However, when it comes to the use of sports technology in match operations, there is still a lot of untapped potential. Technology experts such as Nicolas Evans (Head of Football Research & Standards at FIFA) and Maximilian Schmidt (Managing Director at sports technology provider KINEXON), however, see the football industry on the verge of a great leap.

Live data-based training and match analysis was just the beginning. Real-time tracking technology has reached a point where it offers fully automated solutions for pressing challenges. Be it for marketing, sponsoring, broadcasting, fan experience and fan engagement, officiating and more.

In this Digital Deep Dive Session, Maximilian Schmidt (KINEXON) and Nicolas Evans (FIFA) will give you insights into the football of the future and provide information on FIFA’s current collaboration with technology provider KINEXON.

Look as well forward to Frank Bohmann, Managing Director of the LIQUI-MOLY Handball Bundesliga. He will provide a look behind the scenes of the strongest handball league in the world. Since 2019, the league has been tracking all movements of players and balls in real time in all league matches. The data is centrally made available to several stakeholders. Bohmann is convinced: “Data collection in real time, as we are doing it, will become a new standard.”
